Haridwar, 15 Jul: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) extended a warm welcome to Kanwar pilgrims arriving in Haridwar by offering them rudraksha malas and shawls, symbolising blessings and appreciation for their devotion.

In his message to the pilgrims, the Governor appealed: "Do not carry Kanwars heavier than your physical capacity." He urged everyone to follow the rules laid down by ancient sages for this spiritual journey. He emphasised that the Kanwar Yatra is not just a religious event, but a sacred tradition deeply rooted in discipline and devotion.
