He said that the organisation has honoured many personalities for public service, culture and social service like famous novelist Ruskin Bond, folk singer Narendra Singh Negi, Jagar Samrat Pritam Bharatwan, litterateur Haridatt Bhatt Shailesh, and others. He said that the purpose of the award is to appreciate the remarkable work done by such persons in public interest and to inspire others as well. The decision to honour the DM is an acknowledgement of his dedication and devotion to duty.
