Dehradun, 8 Oct: Following instructions from District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Jaybharat Singh today held a meeting at the Collectorate here today with representatives from multiple trade associations and officials of related departments. The meeting was focussed on the issue of temporary licences for firecracker sales during the Diwali festival.

The gathering reached a unanimous decision that, starting next year, licences for firecracker shops will be issued strictly for designated open grounds. The district administration has claimed that this decision has full support from the traders who participated in today's meeting.
