Ramnagar, Oct. 17 -- The Bijrani Zone of Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) reopened this morning, formally signalling the beginning of the fresh tourism season for the park. Following the annual monsoon closure, the zone welcomed its first batch of tourists at 6 a.m. this morning and the visitors from across India and abroad arrived early to experience the jungle safari.

The reopening ceremony was conducted in traditional fashion, with CTR Deputy Director Rahul Mishra, SDO Amit Gwasakoti, Range Officer Naveen Pandey, forest personnel, and local MLA Diwan Singh Bisht jointly cutting the ribbon and flagging off the jeeps filled with tourists hoping to catch glimpse of various wild animals, tigers in particular.
