Dehradun, May 5 -- Portals of Badrinath to open today
DEHRADUN, 3 May: In a significant development just a day ahead of the ceremonial opening of the portals of Badrinath temple, the Central government has sanctioned Rs 291.15 crore for disaster mitigation and planned reconstruction in the holy town of Jyotirmath, earlier known as Joshimath. The approval comes following persistent requests from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Expressing deep gratitude over the development, the Chief Minister has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for what he called a timely and vital support for the long-term safety and development of Jyotirmath.
