Haridwar, 30 Jan: Haridwar today witnessed religious observances and expressions of protest on the ghats of the Ganga after the Supreme Court stayed the implementation of the new regulations issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Brahmin community has welcomed the stay on the new UGC regulations by the Supreme Court. Following the court's decision, members of the Brahmin community gathered at Malviya Ghat today, where they performed prayers, offered worship to the Ganga and conducted a ceremonial milk abhishek.
