Dehradun, Feb. 10 -- The athletics events kicked off today at the 38th National Games being held in Uttarakhand. The morning session featured the finals of the men's and women's 10,000m races, in which athletes delivered outstanding performances.

In the men's 10,000m race, Himachal Pradesh's Sawan Barwal clinched the gold medal, completing the race in 28:49.93 minutes. Maharashtra's Kiran Matre secured the silver medal with a time of 29:04.76 minutes, while Vinod Singh from Madhya Pradesh clocked 29:43.60 minutes to claim the bronze medal.

In the women's 10,000m race, Maharashtra's Sanjivani Jadhav emerged victorious, finishing in 33:33.47 minutes to secure the gold medal. Uttarakhand's Ankita bagged the silver medal with a time of 34:31....
