Dehradun, 13 Nov: Animal welfare activists, concerned citizens and organisations from across the country are set to stage a silent protest in Dehradun on 15 November against the recent Supreme Court judgement on the relocation of stray or community dogs. The demonstration will be held at Gandhi Park's main gate at 5 p.m. as part of a nationwide movement expressing dissent over the verdict.
According to the organisers, the order has been widely perceived as contrary to the principles of compassion and kindness enshrined in Article 51A(g) of the Constitution, which calls upon every citizen to show compassion towards living creatures.
