Dehradun, March 12 -- BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan today justified the ongoing action against illegal religious encroachments and madrasas in Uttarakhand, calling it necessary for preserving the state's demography and cultural identity.

Chauhan was addressing the media at the State BJP Headquarters here today, during which he asserted that no one would be allowed to misuse religious education as a cover for illegal activities. He stated that the BJP firmly opposes any attempts to alter the state's demography through illegal land occupatios under the guise of religion.
