All Around the World with the Most Travelled Indian
So, in our recent Horn of Africa trip (April-May 2025), after seeing World Heritage UNESCO sites such as Melka Kunture, Gombore and Tiya, we took a short flight from Addis Ababa to Semera which sits in the heart of the desert in the middle of Ethiopia. While Semera itself is a very boring town, it is the gateway for tours into the other worldly Danakil Desert and the Erta Ale volcano. But we had another place of interest that we had to visit, somewhere near the town of Hadar, in an area known as the Middle Awash in the Afar region.
