Monrovia, Jan. 25 -- President George Manneh Weah has called on the 54th Legislature of Liberia to act swiftly in authorizing the printing of a new family of banknotes to address the current liquidity crisis grappling the Liberian economy.

President Weah made the request in his fourth State of the Nation Address to the joint session of the Legislature moments ago.

According to the President, the call for printing new family of banknotes was based on the advice of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), which has the power to print, pending legislative approval.
