New Delhi, April 14 -- In India, brick kilns are typically located in rural areas and the outskirts of towns and cities, often operating in shadow. According to an International Labour Organization report, the brick manufacturing sector in India is highly labour-intensive and recognised as dangerous and hazardous, employing an estimated 10 million workers. The kiln sites are highly concentrated in north Indian states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
