India, Feb. 6 -- When it comes to the issue of stubble burning, producing biochar from stubble is a sustainable alternative to burning it, which releases harmful carbon into the atmosphere.
This method locks carbon into the soil, offering a long-term solution to both waste management and carbon sequestration.
Such management of stubble can be seen as 'carbon-negative farming' which encompasses practices that remove more greenhouse gases from the atmosphere than they emit, going beyond carbon neutrality.
This approach uses natural methods to capture carbon dioxide and store it in the soil, which is the most effective way to sequester carbon.
