This policy introduced a two-tiered tariff system: a flat 10% tariff on all imports effective April 5, and a set of elevated, country-specific 'reciprocal tariffs'-ranging between 25% and 50%-targeting nations with significant trade surpluses with the United States, initially slated for implementation on April 9.
