India, June 17 -- It is becoming less and less important to believe that a college diploma is necessary for a good income. Because of recent changes in the workforce, a new type of jobs known as new-collar jobs is now influencing careers and success in a significant way. Due to this, these positions focus on having work experience, skill, and being flexible instead of degrees, and some now offer higher earnings than most office jobs.
Such positions involve technical or managerial skills, not the need to obtain a four-year degree. According to IBM's ex-CEO Ginni Rometty, this term applies to the group of people whose abilities and experience matter more than where they got their education.
