India, April 11 -- Microsoft is reportedly set to cut more jobs by May 2025 as signs of a global economic slowdown persist. This time round, Business Insider reports, the focus will be on cutting back on middle management roles and cutting non engineering staff. It is the latest in Microsoft's effort to slim down its operations and become an engineering company.

Microsoft is attempting to improve productivity and reduce unnecessary layers in its teams through internal restructuring. In other words, the company is looking for less managers and more people who can actually build and code.
