India, Feb. 13 -- When employees are let go from a company, others are employed to perform fairly comparable tasks. Whether that's true or the layoff was a convenient way to get rid of Al, only top management knows. There are many other ways where employees quit themselves instead of them being laid off. Such news is never covered because the employer avoids severance compensation as a result. Additionally, it enables them to state that "we have never experienced a layoff in 25 years."
