Jakarta, March 19 -- The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) consensually approved the resolution, drafted together by Indonesia and Germany, to support the peace building process in Afghanistan.

The resolution prolongs the mandate for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), as noted in a written statement issued by Indonesia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York and received here on Tuesday.

"This is the first resolution proposed by Indonesia that managed to get approval from the UNSC since Indonesia joined the council in January 2019," Permanent Representative of Indonesia to UN in New York, Ambassador Dian Triansyah Djani noted.
