Jakarta, April 16 -- A terror suspect, MT, 49, shot dead by the Indonesian Police's anti-terror squad, Densus 88, was a former terror convict, according to spokesman of the Indonesian Police Senior Commissioner Pol Ahmad Ramadhan.

"MT is a former terror convict jailed in 2013 and released in 2016," Ramadhan stated at the Indonesian Police Headquarters here on Friday.

MT was shot dead by Densus 88 for attacking the police during a raid at his home in South Sulawesi's capital, Makassar, on Thursday (April 15).

"MT aggressively attacked the police and lunged at them with two swords," he remarked.

MT was a member of Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) that had joined the Villa Mutiara group. The group was allegedly linked to the suicide bombing ...
