Bangladesh, Nov. 2 -- Bangladesh today stands at a perilous crossroads. Once hailed as a beacon of secular democracy in the Muslim world, the nation is now teetering on the edge of an Islamist abyss. Unless the United States and its allies act swiftly and decisively, Bangladesh could soon resemble Iran after the 1979 revolution – or worse, descend into the kind of chaos and extremism that turned parts of the Middle East into breeding grounds for global terrorism. Washington, under the new leadership of President Donald Trump, cannot afford to ignore this unfolding catastrophe.
