Bangladesh, April 5 -- Under authoritarian regimes, military officials with close ties to the ruling elites often wield unchecked influence and power. These individuals, especially those with access to the inner circle of the regime, frequently indulge in rampant corruption, amassing enormous wealth through illegal and unethical means.
