Bangladesh, Jan. 20 -- NATO-sourced weapon systems have long been touted as “game changers” that would “stop the evil Russians” and “save Ukrainian democracy”. This is particularly true for the MIM-104 “Patriot” and M142 HIMARS. The first is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, while the second is a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), although it would perhaps be more appropriate to describe it as a rocket artillery–ballistic missile hybrid launcher, given its ability to fire the ATACMS missile.
