Bangladesh, July 26 -- Poland has issued a pointed warning to the Ukrainian government amid mounting international criticism and nationwide protests over controversial legal changes that critics say jeopardize Ukraines anti-corruption institutions. The legislation, passed by Ukraines parliament on July 22, effectively places two independent anti-corruption watchdogs-the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutors Office (SAPO)-under the control of the Prosecutor General, a political appointee.
