Bangladesh, March 7 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Bangladesh has uncovered a massive corruption scandal involving Md. Lack Mia, the former chairman of Brahmandi Union Parishad (UP) in Araihazar Upazila, Narayanganj District. Investigations have revealed suspicious transactions totaling around BDT 145 billion and the illegal accumulation of wealth exceeding BDT 700 million in his bank accounts. In response, the ACC has initiated legal action by filing two separate cases against him and his wife, Mahmuda Begum. The cases were officially lodged at the ACCs Integrated District Office (Dhaka-1) on March 6, as confirmed by ACC Director General Md. Akhter Hossain.
