Bangladesh, July 26 -- It is highly disheartening that French President Emmanuel Macron has decided to recognize a Palestinian state and issue a formal statement to this effect at the United Nations General Assembly in September this year. He has reportedly said that “the urgent priority today is to end the war in Gaza and bring relief to the civilian population” there. He is said to calculate that, with the creation of a Palestinian state, its leadership would recognize Israel and that would lead to regional stability.
