India, May 8 -- The cybersecurity preparedness of global enterprises has shown only marginal improvement in the past year, despite the surge in the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across industries. According to Cisco's latest Cybersecurity Readiness Index 2025, only 4% of companies worldwide have reached a 'Mature' stage of readiness, marginally up from 3% in 2024.

The index, based on insights from over 8,000 business and security leaders across 30 countries, benchmarks organisations against five critical pillars: identity intelligence, machine trustworthiness, network resilience, cloud reinforcement, and AI fortification.
