India, May 5 -- The launch of Skype in 2003 was genuinely groundbreaking. It swiftly became a revolutionary tool for free audio and video calls over the internet, with over 300 million monthly users at its peak in the mid-2010s. For those travelling abroad, contacting home suddenly became much easier. Skype also significantly reduced the cost of regular international communication for both personal and professional use, eliminating the need for expensive international phone calls.
