India, April 15 -- Compound semiconductors are the future key to a dominant position in this industry, and India is working hard to succeed in this field. On11th April, India opened its first semiconductor plant based on gallium nitride (GaN) at Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with the goal of making the self-reliant India mission successful and forward-looking.

This semiconductor facility was established with an investment of approximately Rs 1,143 crore from Chennai-based Polymatech Electronics. By 2030, the company wants to create 10 billion chips a year. The facility will meet the demands of data analytics, telecom, the defence industry, 5G, and 6G.
