India, Jan. 21 -- Bharti Airtel has enabled uninterrupted mobile connectivity on Vidyasagar Setu (the Second Hooghly Bridge), becoming the first telecom operator to provide continuous coverage across the structure linking Kolkata and Howrah. The development was announced by the company in a statement on Wednesday, 21 January, 2026.
Vidyasagar Setu is one of Kolkata's busiest transport corridors, carrying thousands of commuters daily between the two cities. Airtel said the deployment ensures consistent voice and data services across the entire span of the bridge.
