India, May 9 -- Airtel Africa reported continued growth in its customer base and digital services during the year ended 31 March 2025. The total customer base increased by 8.7% to 166.1 million, with the company's focus on digital inclusion contributing to a 4.3% rise in smartphone penetration to 44.8%. The number of data customers grew by 14.1% to 73.4 million, while average data usage per customer rose by 30.4% to 7.0 GB. This contributed to a 15.4% increase in data ARPU (average revenue per user) on a constant currency basis.
