Tashkent, Nov. 12 -- In early November this year, the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced its decision to stop the practice of hearings, which considered the applicability of the General System of Preferences (GSP) in relation to Uzbekistan.

The GSP is a duty-free regime for the importation of goods into the United States under the trade Act of 1974 for imports from developing countries. Uzbekistan was granted GSP beneficiary status (the right to duty-free deliveries to the United States) in August 1994.
