Tashkent, Feb. 23 -- The French government is intending to allocate 145mn euros for a project to improve water supply in Tashkent, a move set to expand the Uzbek population's access to drinking water.

Details of the project were on the agenda of negotiations between Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov and the French SUEZ delegation headed by Executive Vice President Eric Gebali. On February 20, the parties also agreed to launch similar projects in Karakalpakstan, Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions.

All projects are to be implemented at the expense of grant funds of the French company.
