US, July 28 -- According to the latest data from the US insurer SquareTrade, almost 40% of mobile phone theft claims in Europe are reported to originate from the United Kingdom.

London appears to be responsible for nearly 50% of all mobile phone pickpocketing cases in the country.

The study, which analyzed claims from twelve European markets, revealed that 39% of mobile phone thefts took place in the UK, even though British customers make up only 10% of the company's clientele.

The report shows that mobile phone theft claims in Great Britain have surged by 425% since June 2021, with 42% of these incidents occurring in London.
