US, Jan. 12 -- As international institutions retreat from environmental financing, a new operational model for ocean protection is emerging-one that directly links marine cleanliness to tourism, national infrastructure, and the Blue Economy.

At the start of 2026, global environmental diplomacy entered uncharted territory. Major funding withdrawals from UN-aligned organizations, coupled with deep workforce reductions, have exposed a growing gap between environmental promises and on-the-ground implementation. Nowhere is this gap more visible than in ocean preservation.
