Us, Dec. 9 -- ATAir traffic delays in Europe have more than doubled over the past decade, rising far faster than flight numbers and exposing deep structural weaknesses in the continent's aviation system, according to a new analysis released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The report, covering the years 2015 through 2024 and partial data from 2025, paints a stark picture: Air Traffic Flow Management delays increased 114 percent, even though flight volumes grew by just 6.7 percent. The study excluded weather-related disruptions and also omitted flight cancellations linked to air traffic control strikes, suggesting the true scale of the problem is even larger.
