U.S, Jan. 28 -- Delta Air Lines has placed a firm order for 31 next-generation Airbus widebody aircraft, including 16 A330-900s and 15 A350-900s, strengthening its long-haul fleet and international growth strategy. Once delivered, Delta's fleet will include 55 A330neo and 79 A350 aircraft.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian said the new aircraft will enhance the airline's capabilities in expanded long-haul markets while elevating premium offerings and delivering operational efficiencies and long-term cost benefits. Airbus welcomed the order as a further endorsement of the performance and efficiency of its widebody family.
