U.S, April 13 -- On April 13, 2024, people splash water on one another to celebrate the Songkran festival in Thailand. The Songkran festival, the traditional Thai New Year, is celebrated from April 13 to 15 every year, during which people express greetings by splashing water on each other.

Young and old are seen participating and often walk away soaking wet and with a big Thai Smile.

In 2018, the Thai cabinet extended the festival nationwide to seven days, 9-16 April, to enable citizens to travel home for the holiday.

This year, Bangkok's international airport and gateway to Thailand opened 17 years ago.
