Bengaluru, Oct. 9 -- Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, in an attempt to quell rebellion over the possibility of issuing party tickets to the disqualified rebel MLAs of Congress and JDS, on Wednesday appointed eight BJP leaders, who had sought tickets to contest in the by-election on December 5, as heads of various State Boards and Corporations, with the ranks of Minister of State.

Sharath Bacchegowda, who had raised the banner of rebellion against the candidature of MTB Nagaraj from Hosakote constituency and staged a protest with his supporters in front of Mr Yediyurappa's residence, was appointed as the Karnataka Housing Board Chairman, former MLA from K R Puram constituency Nandiesh Reddy, who was also against fielding 'outsiders...
