Palakkad, March 21 -- The ruling CPI(M) in Kerala have found itself in an embarrassing position as a woman, who had abandoned her newborn baby, alleged that she was raped at a CPI (M) party office at Cheruppalasseri in this district.

The issue came to light when the police found the abandoned child at Nagarippuram near Manner on February 16. In the ensuing investigation, police found out the child's mother and recorded her statement.

Sources said she was raped at the CPI(M) office when she came there along with her friend as an active worker of party's youth wing for bringing out a college magazine.
