Kolkata, Sept. 16 -- Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly reacting to Virat Kohli's decision to step down as captain of the T20 side after the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021, said the batsman has been a true asset for Indian cricket.

The BCCI on Thursday announced that Virat Kohli has decided to step down as captain of the T20I side after the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup, 2021.

However, the brilliant batsman will continue to be available for selection for the T20 format post the upcoming ICC event in 2021,which is hosted by the BCCI in U.A.E. and Oman, an Indian cricket board statement said.
