Hoshiarpur, Jan. 14 -- An under-trial prisoner fled from police custody in the wee hours of Tuesday while he was undergoing treatment at local Civil Hospital.
According to the police sources, Harpreet Singh (21), alias Raja, son of Harbans Singh, of village Miani was arrested, by Tanda police under sections 309, 402, 412 and 120 B of the IPC and sections 25 and 28 of the Arms Act and sections 22/27, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act on December 10, 2019.
Harpreet served as a sepoy in Indian Army and was arrested with three accomplices including Jagtar Singh alias Jagga, son of Harbhajan Singh, who is an accused in the drones arms drop case in Punjab's Tarn Taran in September.
