Chandigarh, Sept. 28 -- Haryana government is once again set to surpass its annual target of establishing Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs), which will provide crop residue management equipment to farmers. As many as 1,500 CHCs, which is almost twice the target set for this year, will be established with financial assistance of 80 per cent of the project cost, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department, Sanjeev Kaushal said here on Monday. He said that a target to establish 820 CHCs had been set earlier. However, keeping in view the demand from farmers, 1,500 such centres would be set up.
