Mumbai, Nov. 18 -- The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday gained
by 75 points to open at 40,431.08 on buying in Materials, Energy, Finance, IT and Telecom stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE also rose by 20 points to 11,915.15. The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 40,542.40 and 40,303.77 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 11,946.20 and 11,884.10 points, respectively.
The sectoral indices like Materials, Energy, Finance, IT and Telecom kept the market firm.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 5.63 pc to Rs 415.35, Sun Pharma by 3.16 pc to Rs 428, Tata Steel by 2.42 pc to Rs 403.95, SBI by 1.02 pc to Rs 325.30 and Tata Motors by 1.01 pc to rs 170.30.
