Mumbai, March 19 -- The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday rallied by 268.40 points to 38,363.47 ended with sharp gains amid heavy buying in banks, IT and energy counters.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too moved up by 70.20 points at 11,532.40.
The Sensex registered the day's high and low at 38,396.06 and 38,078.23 points respectively.
The Nifty registered day's high and low at 11,543.85 and 11,451.25 points, respectively.
