Jaipur, Jan. 20 -- Gajendra Singh Shaktawat, Congress MLA from Vallabhnagar in Rajasthan's Udaipur district, died at a hospital in New Delhi on Wednesday after a prolonged illness.

Shaktawat, 48, breathed his last at 0500 hrs at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), where he was being treated for a liver-related ailment for more than a month.

The MLA had also tested positive for coronavirus, but later, recovered from it, family sources said. He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.

Shaktawat was the son of the late Gulab Singh Shaktawat, a freedom fighter and a prominent leader of the Mewar region.

Expressing grief over Shaktawat's demise, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted, "Deep condolences on untimely d...
