Puducherry, Jan. 26 -- Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi unfurled the national flag at the Indira Gandhi sports complex, Ouppalam, here and inspected a guard of honour presented by the Puducherry armed police to mark the 72nd Republic Day celebrations in the union territory on Tuesday.
This was followed by march-pasts by various contigents of police, Home Guards, Fire Service and Ex-Service men. Students were not allowed in the march past this year in the wake of Covid pandemic situation. Other programmes-- tableaux depicting the achievements of various departments of the administration and cultural programmes were also canceled in view of the Covid situation.
