Opposition in Odisha Assembly gherao Speaker in his chamber for rejecting a debate on mining scam

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 8 -- Opposition Congress and BJP members today gheraoed Speaker S N Patro inside his office chamber for rejecting an adjournment notice on mining scam moved by the Congress in the state Assembly

They did not allow him to conduct the business of the house throughout the day.However amid uproar and ruckus four bills were passed in the house with Deputy Speaker R K Singh on the Chair.

The house was adjourned for the day till tomorrow after the Odisha Panchayat Laws (Amendment) Bill 2021, Odisha government land settlement (Amendment) Bill 2021, Odisha Housing Board (Amendment ) bill 2021 and the Indian stamp (Odisha Amendment )Bill 2021 were passed and several reports were laid.
