Puducherry, Dec. 3 -- As many as 42 more persons were tested positive for the Coronavirus and one died in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM on Thursday, taking the tally of active cases to 444.
According to the COVID-19 status released by the health department here, of the 2820 swab sample tests conducted on Wednesday, 42 had tested positive for the virus.
Mahe region of the UT registered the maximum of 23 fresh cases followed by 15 in Puducherry region and four in Karaikal region.
No positive cases were reported in the Yanam region in the last two days.
The lone death was reported in the Puducherry region.
