New Delhi, Jan. 26 -- Showcasing its military might and rich diverse culture, India -- the world's largest democracy -- celebrated its 71st Republic day with patriotic ardour on Sunday.

The historic Rajpath in the national capital came alive as the main attractions of the celebrations -- Akash and Astra missiles, anti-satellite weapon - Mission Shakthi, Army's battle tank Bhishma, infantry combat vehicles, and Air Forces' newly inducted Chinook and Apache helicopters were depicted during the parade.

A total of 22 tableaux - 16 from states and union territories and six from various ministries/departments, depicting the nation's rich cultural heritage and economic progress rolled down the Rajpath.
