Shillong, Sept. 10 -- Meghalaya Tourism Minister, Metbah Lyngdoh on Tuesday tendered his resignation from the post of minister to pave way for him to file his nominations for the election of new Assembly Speaker. Lyngdoh, a three-time United Democratic Party legislator submitted his resignation letter to Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma after the end of the Question Hour during the Autumn Session of the Assembly. The senior UDP legislator later filed his nomination before Commissioner and Secretary of Assembly, Andrew Simons. Lyngdoh was accompanied by his former colleagues and members of the the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA).
